Do you suffer from gum disease? Gum disease, also referred to as periodontal disease, is a disease of the gums caused by plaque buildup being allowed to grow in and around your gums. What are the symptoms of gum disease? The following list will help you identify the most common signs and symptoms of gum disease:

— Are your gums easily engorged, excessively red, or extremely tender?

— Do your gums often bleed when brushing or flossing?

— Do you constantly have bad breath or bad taste that simply won’t go away?

— Do your teeth often feel unfastened or has there been any changes in your bite patterns?

— Are you prone to gum disease because of smoking or chewing tobacco, diabetes, or a pregnancy?

— Do your gums seem to be receding or pulling back from your teeth?

— Have you, or are you taking various medications that can increase your risk for gum disease?
